Still Into You

Paramore · Paramore · 2013

For the rhythm part, a humbucker-loaded Fender offset in the bridge position into a chimey British-voiced combo gets you there: mostly clean-with-edge in the verses, pushed into crunch by a low-gain overdrive for the Bb–C–F chorus. Keep treble up, bass moderate and the gain just past breakup so the fast eighths stay tight and don't wash out. Taylor York cut all the guitars on the album, and his documented studio rig from these sessions is the basis for the choices here — no source names the exact amp on this track.

York lists an AC30 among his studio amps for this album era; AC30 Top Boost has no mid control and its Cut works backwards from a presence knob, so leave Cut around 4. Set volume for light chime-y breakup and let the pedal add the crunch.
